Alex Kellner

I am a 21-year-old politically and technology obsessed graduate student, living in Washington D.C. With my transition to the “dreaded” real world fast-approaching, I am thoroughly enjoying living in the hub of my primary interest.

I began the Master’s portion of a 5-year dual degree program at The George Washington University in January 2008. I started at GW in Fall 2004, majoring in Political Communications in the School of Media and Public Affairs, and am now pursuing my Master’s from the Graduate School of Political Management. In addition to being a student, I am a research assistant at the Institute for Politics, Democracy and the Internet, focusing on eGovernance and digital leadership, where I also blog about once a week. Before starting at the Institute in September 2007, I held many internships at Verizon’s PolicyBlog, Gannett’s Corporate Communication’s Department, Rep. James McGovern, The AARP Bulletin and Microsoft as a campus marketer. In addition, I was a student editor and contributor to the inaugural publication of Euonymous: an E-Anthology of First-Year Writing.

This is my first attempt at blogging for myself. I currently blog at The Institute for Politics Democracy and the Internet’s blog and previously did some ghost-blogging for Verizon’s PolicyBlog.In this blog, I will focus primarily on politics, technology and their interaction. In addition, I will also touch on my other interests, mainly baseball (I’m a big Red Sox fan) and food (both eating out in D.C. and cooking). I hope to blog several times a week at the bare minimum, but considering my busy schedule there may be several periods of time where I go without updating my web page.
